Wellbeing

Hello from the Wellbeing Team xox

It has been another busy couple of weeks!!!

Last week our Year 11 students attended the ROADWHYZ Choice and Consequence program held in the MPC. The Wellbeing Team run this workshop every year as we are very passionate about our students staying safe while driving. It’s a very hard-hitting and confronting course however, it is always well received, and our students are very thankful and grateful towards the facilitators for giving their valuable time up to present to our school.

The program is a joint initiative of the Lower Hunter Police, NSW Ambulance and parents within our community. The program gives young drivers vital information from experts to apply to their driving, helping them to see they are in charge of the choices they make while driving and the consequences they may face when making poor decisions.

Year 11 were outstanding and made our school proud.

LOVEBiTES is another program that was run in recent weeks.

Year 10 had the pleasure of attending The LOVEBiTES program in our Leap centre.

This is a program about violence and its prevention. The initiative is run by the National Association for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (NAPCAN). It’s designed for Year 10 students and focuses on promoting respectful relationships to prevent child abuse and neglect and, mostly, to talk about and recognise the importance of CONSENT

Last week all schools across Australia came together to support NATIONAL ACTION AGAINST BULLYING. MVHS and the community work hard to find solutions to stamp out bullying and violence. A sausage sizzle was held raising funds for KIDS HELP LINE and there were activities throughout the week focusing on this cause.
