In a thrilling display of athletic prowess, the PASS Football Studies class recently turned their focus to Rugby League Nines, culminating in a game between the Year 9 and Year 10 students.
Year 10 showcased a dominant power game in the middle, with standout performances from Nash Waddell, Blade Stevens, and Kobi Martin. Their aggressive plays and relentless drive created numerous challenges for the Year 9 defense, and it seemed they might run away with the match. However, Year 9's defenders, Zack Turner and Cooper Hayes, stood firm, delivering a series of crucial tackles that kept Year 10 from gaining an insurmountable lead.
The momentum shifted in the second half as Year 9 found their rhythm. Demonstrating excellent teamwork and strategic play, they managed to score back-to-back tries. Josh Bullen was instrumental in this comeback, expertly exploiting spaces behind the markers to propel his team forward.
The match was a fantastic learning experience for all involved, highlighting the importance of both offensive and defensive strategies in Rugby League Nines.
Year 10
This term, the Year 10 cohort has been actively engaged in a vital educational initiative: learning about road safety. As these students approach the age where they’ll begin driving or cycling independently, understanding the rules of the road, the importance of safe behavior, and the responsibilities of being a road user has never been more critical. In practical lessons they have stepped into the vibrant world of traditional dance, immersing themselves in the rhythms and movements of the Cha Cha, Samba, and the Waltz.
11SLR
The Year 11 Sport, Lifestyle, and Recreation (SLR) class has embarked on an engaging and educational journey, blending theoretical knowledge with practical skills. This term, the students have been immersed in learning about First Aid and Sports Injuries. Concurrently, they have been honing their badminton skills, preparing for an upcoming assessment that will test their prowess on the court.

Students have almost completed our final Core for Preliminary CAFS “Families and Communities”. Students have been learning about family structures, roles individuals adopt within families and communities, managing change and socialisation. Students are encouraged to ensure revision is on track in preparation for their Prelim examinations in Week 8. They should revise course content, test syllabus palm cards and practice extended responses under time restrictions. Best wishes for their exams.
11PDHPE
Year 11 students are currently completing the final two areas of study for their Preliminary course: First Aid and Fitness Choices. As we approach the end of the term, students should be focusing on their at-home preparations for the upcoming yearly exams in Weeks 8 and 9.
To best prepare, students are encouraged to complete exam-style questions in their booklets, review past papers provided, and create summaries that help them recall key points from their syllabus. Consistent revision and practice will be crucial for success in their exams.
