Year 10 TAFE Taster Lessons: An Exciting Opportunity for Our Students

We are delighted to provide exciting opportunities to our students in attending Year 10 TAFE Taster Lessons, providing our students with an invaluable opportunity to explore various vocational pathways. These sessions are designed to ignite students' interests and help them make informed decisions about their future careers. We encourage all Year 10 students to take full advantage of this unique opportunity to gain practical skills and insights into potential career paths. Ms Knipe, in the Futures Centre coordinates these opportunities.

The Importance of Student Reports for Year 8 and Year 10 Students

As we approach the end of the semester, student reports will soon be distributed. These reports are crucial for a student's educational journey, offering detailed feedback on their academic performance. For Year 10 students, it's especially important to ensure they are meeting the NESA RoSA requirements to be eligible for the Record of School Achievement at the end of Year 10. Reviewing the reports thoroughly helps identify the students strengths and areas for improvement, guiding their efforts to do better next semester. It's also essential to complete any outstanding assessments highlighted in academic letters of concern for Year 8 students or N warnings for Year 10 students. Setting realistic goals based on this feedback is key to a student's growth and success. We are committed to supporting them in their pursuit of excellence and encourage the students and families to use the feedback from these reports to foster continuous learning and development.

Assessment Tasks

Completing assessment tasks is essential for several reasons. Firstly, they provide a clear measure of a student's understanding and mastery of the subject material, allowing both the student and teachers to identify areas where they excel and areas needing improvement. Assessments also help develop critical skills such as time management, problem-solving, and critical thinking, which are invaluable in both academic and real-world settings. Additionally, for Year 10 students, completing assessments is crucial for meeting the NESA RoSA requirements, ensuring eligibility for the Record of School Achievement. Failure to complete these tasks can result in academic letters of concern or N warnings, impacting your overall academic progress and future opportunities. By consistently completing assessment tasks, you not only demonstrate your commitment to your education but also set a strong foundation for continued success and personal growth.

Congratulations to those students who have been making an effort to produce high quality work with their assessment tasks.

Non-compulsory Excursion Policy

Following Mount View High School's policies on uniform, attendance, and behaviour is essential for students in Year 8 and Year 10 to participate in exciting non-compulsory excursions. Just like how professionals wear uniforms at work to show pride and unity, wearing the school uniform consistently helps build a strong school community. Good attendance and positive behaviour ensure that students don't miss out on learning opportunities and can safely enjoy excursions. Meeting these standards not only allows students to join in on fun and educational trips but also prepares them for future success. Students and the community can access the Non-Compulsory Excursion Policy via our MVHS website. Students can request to see their attendance, behaviour and uniform data anytime by seeing me.
