As the school year draws to a close, we bid a heartfelt farewell to the graduating Class of 2024. This year’s Year 12 students have faced a journey filled with challenges, achievements, and countless memories, leaving an indelible mark on our school community.
The past six years have seen these students grow, persevere, and inspire others with their enthusiasm and resilience. From their first days in Year 7, navigating the hallways and meeting new friends, to the intense final HSC exams, this group has shown dedication, kindness, and a spirit of unity that has enriched our school culture.
This year’s graduates have excelled in academics, arts, sports, and community initiatives, embodying the school’s values both inside and outside the classroom. Year 12 students also led memorable fundraiser events, dressed up for book week and performed hits by John Lennon and Lady Gaga in MVHS’s first Day on the Green! Their creativity and enthusiasm brought everyone together, reminding us of all of the importance of community and school spirit.
We also recognise the support networks that have helped these students succeed. Their teachers, families, and friends have been essential in guiding them through the highs and lows of school life, offering unwavering encouragement and advice. The bond between students and staff has been especially strong this year, with Year 12 often expressing gratitude for teachers who went above and beyond, not only as educators but as mentors and friends.
Reflecting on their time here, many Year 12 students share feelings of nostalgia mixed with excitement for what lies ahead. For some, university is the next step, where they’ll continue their studies in fields such as Nursing, Education, Business/Law, Pharmacy, Biomedical Science, Criminology, Computer Science and Paramedics. Others are ready to enter the workforce, taking with them the skills they've gained. Some will pursue travel, gap years, or vocational training with each path reflecting their unique interests and aspirations.
To the Class of 2024, we thank you for your contributions to our school community. Your journey has been an inspiration, and you leave behind a legacy of kindness, creativity, and resilience. Wherever life takes you, remember the friendships, lessons, and memories you've made here. As you step into the world, may you continue to embody the values you've practiced, making a difference in your communities with the same dedication you’ve shown us.
