As we wrap up an incredible year, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our faculty, students, and parents for their unwavering support and commitment to excellence. This year has been filled with learning, growth, and numerous accomplishments, and we are excited to carry this momentum into 2025.

One of the highlights this term has been the introduction of a new digital resource, Mathspace, which we are currently trialling across several classes. Mathspace is an interactive online platform that offers step-by-step guidance and real-time feedback to students as they solve problems, bridging the gap between classroom learning and independent study. With a vast array of topics and questions tailored to each student’s level, Mathspace empowers students to take charge of their own learning at a pace that suits them. This resource will continue to be available next year, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on student engagement and understanding.

In other news, our Year 11 Mathematics Standard 2, Advanced, Extension 1 and Extension 2 assessment schedule will see a change next year: Assessment Task 1 will now be conducted as a class test instead of an assignment. This adjustment allows for a more focused evaluation of students’ understanding in a timed setting, fostering exam readiness and providing immediate insight into areas that may need reinforcement. We believe this change will benefit students by reducing the burden of extensive assignments while enhancing their ability to demonstrate mastery of concepts in a structured format.
