Science and Agriculture

Year 7 Science

Year 7 Science students have been hard at work this term completing a portfolio on a range of key skills. They are required to evaluate the quality of their work ranging from following a method safely, constructing quality tables and graphs to modifying an existing experiment in order to improve it.

Year 8 Science and Agriculture

Agriculture students have been working on establishing and maintaining vegetable gardens on the farm with hopes of a bountiful harvest in the near future.

Science students are putting their experimental skills to work in their group depth study assessment task. Students engage in collaboratively planning, conducting and analysing an investigation of choice with their peers.

Year 9 Science and Agriculture

Agriculture students are engaged in project-based learning activities focused on operating a herb-growing enterprise. They have been evaluating the impact of management decisions on running such an enterprise and exploring interactions between Australia’s economy, culture and society.

In Science, students have been completing their depth study where an explanation report is constructed on a topic of interest and presented to their peers.

Year 10 Science and Agriculture

In Science, students are exploring the forces involved in motion with a particular focus on high-speed objects such as motor vehicles. Various experiments have been performed to investigate a range of concepts such as speed, acceleration and momentum.

Agriculture students have been performing blind taste tests of native honey and investigating additive ingredients in foreign honey supply designed to lower production costs.

12 Biology

In partnership with the University of Sydney, Year 12 Biology students participated in the AMGEN biotechnology experience where they modified and cultivated transgenic species of bacteria.

12 VET Primary Industries

Primary Industry students have applied their skills in constructing and maintaining fences on the farm.
