Year 7 Science
Year 7 submitted their incredible scientific models early this term and the creativity is outstanding! A wide array of scientific concepts were investigated and modelled. Featured below are highlights from Miss Bell’s 7 Sapphires as curated by senior students. Sienna Procter’s model of the water cycle even demonstrates precipitation!
Year 8 Science and Agriculture
Year 8 Science has been investigating the organs and systems that make up animal and plant life. Ms Conn’s 8G completed a flower dissection experiment where they identified and organised all the components of a flower.
Year 9 Science and Agriculture
In Science, Year 9 recently wrapped up their studies into the atom and applications of nuclear energy. Mrs Dunstan’s 9A2 class got hands on in modelling the atomic structure of elements found in the periodic table. Students were able to investigate the patterns and trends built into the table first hand using Skittles and M&Ms.
Year 10 Science and Agriculture
Year 10 Science students have been investigating the universe and the stellar objects that make it up, researching how humanity’s understanding of their nature, shape and structure has evolved over time. Miss Bell’s and Mr Gruber’s classes performed the flame test experiment which aims to demonstrate how scientists can determine the elements found within a star based upon
Senior Science and Agriculture
Year 11 Chemistry students journeyed down to Lucas Heights where they investigated the nature and applications of radioisotopes at ANSTO (Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation) as part of their depth study.
