As we near the end of Term 1, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the key events from the Teaching and Learning faculty.
Firstly, I would like to congratulate our Year 7 and 9 students who recently completed the NAPLAN assessments. These assessments are an important tool that help us to identify strengths and areas where we need to focus our efforts to improve. We will be using the results of these assessments to inform our teaching practices and ensure that we are providing the best possible education for our students.
In addition to NAPLAN, we continue to focus on improving the literacy and numeracy skills of our students through the Covid Intensive Learning Support Program. We have implemented a range of withdrawal interventions and support programs to help students who may be struggling in these areas and working on catching up on missed learning. Our Learning and Support teachers, SLSO’s and Paraprofessionals have been working tirelessly to ensure that our students have access to the resources and support they need to succeed moving forward with their education.
If your child is in need of additional support in literacy or numeracy, I encourage you to speak to their classroom teacher or to one of our learning and support teachers. We are always here to help and are committed to ensuring that every student at Mount View High School has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Finally, I would like to remind parents and carers that if your child requires disability provisions for upcoming assessments or exams, please make sure to contact Miss Killeen as soon as possible. We want to ensure that all students have the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and skills, and we are committed to providing appropriate accommodations to support their learning.
