Wellbeing Team

Hello to everyone from the Wellbeing Team.

It has been a very exciting and rewarding term with lots happening in and around wellbeing.

This term Year 9 finally got to attend Pitstop at the PCYC. This program is all about giving students the tools they might need to manage or seek support regarding contemporary issues or concerns, including health, driving, dental and many more topics. The students were fabulous on the days and made our school proud. We are certain they got a lot out of the workshop and that is fantastic.

This term we took great delight in opening up our breakfast program from the kitchenette in the school hall. We recognised we needed a bigger space to accommodate the growing demand whilst recognising our beautiful students need breakfast before school.

We totally understand there are many reasons why students are not able to have breakfast before arriving. We believe that providing this free service will help them be more ready to learn. We also love seeing the smiles on their faces as we feed, converse and send them on their merry way. Our breakfast club runs Monday to Friday 8.30 – 8.50. We have toast, milo, cereal, porridge, fruit, and yoghurt. We are looking to use our kids cooker club to prepare some of the foods to put towards breakfast which will be a fabulous endorsement as they prepare the food they then eat the next day. We are always graciously looking for donations and so if anyone in our community feels they could contribute in any way to our breakfast club please feel free to contact the wellbeing team.

Our wellbeing team run many programs throughout the week. We have the boys maintenance group, girls group junior and senior, top blokes, the cookers club, green growers, the motor bike program just to name a few. Amazing teachers and teacher aids run these programs and have amazing students who turn day in and day out. Often we have a waiting list as so many students value these programs and look forward to going to them.

Girls Group

Building on connections within our school, girls group has been busy this term learning about expressing their creativity whilst also participating in whole school initiatives. This term students have mastered stitching skills to create beautiful flowers that can be attached to a broach or hair piece. In addition to sewing, the students have been baking scones, making massage oil and decorating the school to celebrate pride month. With every activity students are building new friendships and mastering important skills to assist them later in life. Mrs Hunt and Mrs Scheffler would like to thank the girls for a wonderful term 2 and hope they have been inspired to continue some creative projects in the school holidays.

Thank you so much from the wellbeing team and we hope all of our students and their families have a safe and happy holiday xox
