We are almost there! Only 5 weeks to go before students embark on their Higher School Certificate journey. However, Year 10 has so much to achieve in a small time frame.
Year 10 have just finished their examinations in Week 4. Well done to everyone who overcame the challenges of the exams and worked hard to achieve their best. Examinations can be challenging though it is important to remember to follow the instructions in support of all students.
Some important dates ahead in Term 4:
Weeks 4-5: Some lucky students are completing the Hunter Vtec Head Start Program. Students participating in this will be working in specific industries and completing work experience. For those involved, it will be an excellent opportunity to gauge options for professional pathways.
Week 6: Careers camp in Sydney, Monday 14th - Wednesday 16th. Students will need to be at the basin car park by 8am Monday to ensure that the buses leave promptly by 8.30 am. They will be provided with many opportunities to extend their knowledge of possible career paths and future learning opportunities. Locations include Sydney Uni, Ultimo TAFE and Defence Force Recruiting with many othes to be had as well. Personally, I cannot wait to wake up next to the Harbour Bridge and drink my morning coffee.
Week 6: Students who do not participate in the Sydney Careers camp are expected to attend school as alternate activities have been organised.
Week 7: Project 10. Students will be allocated a time to interview with a panel. They need to complete all aspects as posted in Google Classroom in preparation for their interviews. If you have any questions, please see Mrs Burke in the PE staffroom or Miss Bendall in the TAS staffroom.
Weeks 8-9: Some students have organised to complete work placement during this time. The remainder of students will continue to come to school.
Year 10 thank you for a wonderful year. I look forward to seeing what opportunities come our way in 2023. Have a great end of term and a wonderful break.
