08/09/2026 - LEO's & Hospitality Students - LEO's Changeover Dinner

Date: Tuesday 8th September 2026
Time: 5:00pm - 7:30pm
Location: Mount View High School - LEAP Centre

This special occasion will celebrate the achievements of our LEOs and mark the formal induction of the new leadership team for the year ahead. It will also provide an opportunity to acknowledge the important role that community leaders and supporters play in encouraging the service and leadership of young people in our region.

Attendees will enjoy a two-course sit-down meal prepared and served by Hospitality students. Students will provide a professional dining experience, showcasing their skills in food preparation, presentation, table service and customer service while contributing to this important community celebration.

Mount View High School's STEM Racing Teams; Hyper Speed, NYX Velocity, Blazing Vortex and Blue Lightning are competing at the STEM Racing Regionals Competition, representing our school in the Hunter Valley.

10/09/2026 - Drama Excursion - The Lion King Musical

Date: Thursday 10th September 2026
Time: 8:30am - 7:30pm
Location: Capitol Theatre

Mount View High School will be attending The Lion King Musical in Sydney for eligible and interested students. After the show, students will then attend a special Lion King panel designed for Drama students.

14/09/2026 - 25/09/2026 - Year 11 - End of Course Yearly Examinations

Date: Monday 14th - Friday 25th September 2026
Time: Per Timetable
Location: Mount View High School - MPC

Year 11 Students will sit their End of Course Yearly Examinations before transitioning into Year 12 in Term 4 2026.

Each student will be given a timetable along with all other relevant information.

18/09/2026 - Year 7 - Coalfields Sports Gala Day

Date: Friday 18th September 2026
Time: 8:50am - 3:00pm
Location: Maitland Park

All Year 7 Students across the network of Coalfields Schools (Mount View High School, Kurri Kurri High School, Cessnock High School, Rutherford High School, Grossman High School and Maitland High School) will compete in the annual Coalfields Sports Gala Day.

24/09/2026 - End of Term Reward Excursion

Date: Thursday 24th September 2026
Time: 7:30am - 4:30pm
Location: Luna Park Sydney

This term we will head to Luna Park for our end of term reward excursion.

Students wanting to go on this excursion need to see their Year Advisor to be added to the student list.

Students must meet the school's non-compulsory excursion policy for behaviour, attendance and compliance with uniform.

Permission notes will be sent via School Bytes from Week 8 to parent/carers of students who have put their name down and meet the eligibility requirements.

Final eligibility check will be completed on Friday 18th September - this is also the due date for permission and payment.

Please note, due to tickets being purchased - this is a non-refundable event.

14/10/2026 - 16/10/2026 - Year 11 - Life Ready Camp

Date: Wednesday 14th - Friday 16th October 2026
Location: Milson Island Sport and Recreation Centre

All Year 11 students are required to complete a 25-hour course in PDHPE - this program known as “Life Ready” is a compulsory part of their education however the camp component is optional. Those students not attending will complete the work at school.

Life Ready Camp is designed to help Senior Students address issues of health, safety and wellbeing at a time when they face significant changes & challenges in their lives.

Life Ready aims to prepare & support students as they encounter situations related to identity, independence and their changing responsibilities.
