Thank you to students
A massive thank you and congratulations to my students for a very successful 2022. A year of ups and downs, you came to school each day and engaged with the learning experiences delivered by your teachers in a positive and enthusiastic way. Bring on an even better 2023, one filled with opportunties for students. Year 7 will progress into Year 8 and take the next steps in their educational pathway, and Year 9 into Year 10 and potential career paths.
Year 7 Boys and Girls Interschool soccer matchesÂ
Last week, our students played soccer against their peers in Year 8. Our boys and girls teams played strongly with some great touches and even better goals. A fantastic way to finish off the school year.
Top Blokes Graduation
A big congratulations to Ngurru Beckett, Chase Edwards and Jayden Long who graduated from the Top Blokes program last week. This program aims to provide mentoring and guidance to our young men in Year 9 and 10 about many aspects of teenage life, such as health, positive relationships and life choices. The mentors made special mention of the boys engagement with the program and the respect that they showed to each other.
Thank you parent/caregivers
I would like to extend a deep thanks of gratitude to the parents and caregivers of students in Year 7 and 9 who have been strong rocks of support on the home front. Guiding and encouraging students through their transition back to school from the COVID lockdown and returning to full-time learning required significant assistance. It is a credit to the key stakeholders of our school community that students had a positive and successful 2022.
Year 7 Activities Days - Revolution Park and Raging Waters
Year 7 completed 2022 in style with two back-to-back days of fun and excitement at Revolution Park and Raging Waters. The days were in-lieu of a camp which was COVID impacted. From all accounts, students enjoyed the exhilaration of the theme parks, trampolines and water slides. Rumour has it that Ms Freeman was seen doing a hand stand as her raft descended into an abyss of water and mist.Certainly a great way to see out 2022 in style.
I wish all the students and their families, teaching and administrative staff, and the wider school community a merry Christmas and a safe and happy new year.
